Eat foods high in Magnesium

To fight sugar cravings, eating foods high in magnesium like beans and nuts and whole grains such as brown rice and 100% whole wheat can help regulate blood sugar levels. Also, green leafy vegetables such as spinach and chard (about 154-157 milligrams per cup) carry an incredible amount of magnesium.

Consume healthy fats

Healthy fats like avocados, nuts and seeds, help to regulate your blood sugar helping to reduce your stress levels and sugar cravings. My favorite is lightly salted avocado toast or 1/4 chopped avocado with seasoned quinoa, veggies, and legumes.

Please stay hydrated

Most of us know this one already. If you are dehydrated that can lead to cravings and headaches. I try to at least drink 4 bottled waters a day but you are supposed to be drinking half your body weight per day. Make it convenient for you and buy a half gallon jug and just fill it with water.

Eat foods high in the mineral zinc

Eating foods like kidney beans, oysters, spinach, and pumpkin seeds can provide a good amount of zinc. Low amounts of zinc can cause problems with glucose and insulin levels and lead to sugar cravings.
