This content is measured based on its effects to the brain. Alcoholic drinks like beer are considered as brain depressants. When the digestion process is hampered, the body stores fats and thus gain weight. The term “beer belly” is derived from the idea that an individual who drinks too much beer will eventually get a bigger waistline. Data obtained from research in alcohol rehabs revealed how high levels of cortisol affect patients. Too much cortisol levels in the body could lead to hypertension, fatigue, sleeplessness, hampered growth and even cancer. Furthermore, children who are born from alcoholic mothers also have lower birth heights compared to non-alcoholic mothers.

Drinking beer may be considered harmless by many people because it’s widely and easily bought in most stores. Teenagers can even drink beer under the supervision of parents. One study about childhood alcohol drinking explained that children can easily access the beverage because their parents drink them. The age of individuals seeking treatment in alcohol rehabs is getting younger and this is alarming to the whole world. Tighter rules and regulations on alcoholic beverages have been proposed to control the problem of alcoholism among the youth. It’s hoping to gain the approval of the majority so that alcoholism among the young will be prevented.
