I was obese, I was young, I hated seeing myself in the mirror, and I was lazy. I struggled with weight my entire life. When you are over weight you never feel good about yourself and your confidence is lowered. Fitting in with others, fitting in to bathroom stalls, and fitting in to airplane seats were a constant struggle.
I gained most of my weight in college where I was not eating home cooked meals but I was eating fast food on a regular basis. I never looked at a nutritional menu or really cared what calories were. Then, there was the turning point for me. The point where I witnessed a coworker lose most of his weight. That was the point when I felt like if he can do it then I should be able to do it.
Immediately I joined up with Weight Watchers and that was the best decision I have ever made because it was not a restricted diet. They educated me on how to make healthier choices. How to avoid eating fast food, they provided me with suggestions on easy and healthy foods to prepare at home. More than a diet plan it was a community with support and tools to help you be successful.
I have lost 90lbs, but the best part is that I have been keeping it off for over 8 years. Today I am a blogger and podcaster. I want to share the truth behind weight loss and long term maintenance. I want you to be successful. I’m spreading the word of healthy guidelines and that there is no quick fix solution. I share motivational before and afters of real people who believe in themselves.
